A MESSAGE FROM THE ELDERS:

A MESSAGE FROM THE ELDERS:

On March 16 the Elders decided to follow the directives of the President and The Covid-19 task force. As you will recall, those directives were “no gatherings of more than 10 people and to practice social distancing”. Sunday, at their daily briefing, the President and the task force extended that recommendation to continue until April 30. There is to be a briefing today with more information about why they have chose to take this step. This is a very hard decision for us to make but we consider this to be the wisest path forward. Therefore we are keeping the church building closed until April 30th and asking everyone to do their part in helping to limit the impact this virus will have on our congregation and our community as a whole. Tim and the praise team will continue to record a service to be posted online. Still, we encourage you as families to watch the message and have communion in your own homes. The church staff will continue to keep normal hours, so call if you need anything. We recognize this is a historically unprecedented action. And feel it is safe to say this is the first time in the history of our church that a service will not be held on Resurrection Sunday. Sad is an understatement! Again we encourage you to share this, tag people, get the word out; especially if you know of those who are not a part of the social media community! And we would like to request one more thing over the next month, that each of us reach out in any way we can, short of visiting them, to encourage one another in the way of calls, texts, cards in the mail or even check with them to see if you can do anything to help them get through this trying time. We encourage you with a verse from the book of Hebrews that Tim used last Sunday : “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” So church, be creative in the way we encourage one another and this will be our meeting together!
