The city still has a goal of restoring power to all meters by Sunday, though it could take as long as Tuesday. Power is restored to approximately 75% of customers in town. Power may be intermittent as service restoration continues. REC has restored power to nearly all customers.

If you are in the city and you do not have power yet, contact the emergency services non-emergency phone number: 660-947-4202.

NOTE: The city will restore power to the meter, but after that it is up to the customer to have an electrician repair the rest.

Other Services

Cleaning supplies will be available at the Market on the Square on Saturday morning.

The two dump sites for tree debris are open through the weekend.

The Red Cross will start to provide assistance to houses with major damage starting on Saturday.

The 4-H Building has chicken fajitas for supper tonight from 4 to 7 pm.

UFCC is actively helping clean up and provide meals for the community. We are glad that nobody was hurt in Wednesday's storm. Thank you to everyone who is helping and donating food and funds. We also thank God for His provision!

As we move forward, we want everyone in the community to know the following:

  1. Put all debris next to the road and in the ditch. The city contracted with Buford Construction to haul out tree debris. Dumpsites will be open through the weekend 8 am to 8 pm for individuals hauling off debris. (Construction debris must go to an approved landfill.)
  2. The city aims to have power restored to all meters by Sunday. Close to 50% by tonight will have power in town.
  3. Free meals are available on Friday at the 4-H Building at the city park.
  4. Starting Saturday and until further notice, lunch and supper will be available at the 4-H Building provided by the Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief. Lunch will be served from 11 am to 2 pm, and supper will be provided from 4 pm to 7 pm.
  5. Shower and laundry services start Friday 9 am to 9 pm at the campgrounds at the city park, also provided by Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief.
  6. If you see any trees on city power lines, contact the city power department.
  7. All coordination of services, volunteers, and food is shifting to the park and 4-H Building for the weekend. If you are interested in helping with tree limb clean up efforts, please go to the 4-H building between the hours of 7 am and 6 pm.

Mayor Ballard said today, “Normalcy is coming back.”

All scheduled events at UFCC on Sunday are on as planned.
